Description and goals:
Pair up players of equal ability in both movement and stroke production. Emphasize split-step and recovery, and knowing when to defend position.
Organization:
Players play out crosscourt points using the singles court and only the forehand stroke. This creates a situation where recovery and shot selection become important. Play to 3 points with the loser rotating out. Variations: With larger groups rotate at 2 points. Make it a cooperative drill and have players extend the rally as long as possible.
Key points:
Focus is on movement and shot selection so players can hit forehands only.
