Hold a Tennis Across America™ event with a theme
of Tennis – for the health of it! ??SM

May 2008 -- Tennis Across America month is here and we want to invite everyone who has not registered or planned an event this year to a host a Tennis Across America event with a theme of Tennis - for the health of it!

May is National Fitness Month and what better way to promote the importance of exercise than through tennis? Not only is tennis a great sport but it is an activity that is fun to do without thinking to yourself, "Hey, I'm doing something that is not only fun, but is good for my mind and body."

A Tennis Across America event can be tailored to the children, adults and senior citizens of your community and facilities. By combining Tennis Across America and Tennis - for the health of it, the USPTA strives not only to get people on the court, but also to show that tennis is a great way to get healthy, stay fit and have fun. The program not only attracts new players to tennis, but also targets former and current players of all ages who want to jump-start their spring and summer tennis activities.

We encourage all of our members to register their events as soon as possible to take advantage of USPTA's new Tennis Across America commercial on the Tennis Channel during our "On Court with USPTA™" television show in the months of April and May. This commercial will help make the public aware of free events in their area. To find a clinic in their area, we will direct people to our Web site, which lists all registered Tennis Across America events open to the public. So, if you have not already registered your events, please do so today and take advantage of this free promotional tool. Remember, the deadline to turn in all Tennis Across America registration forms for inclusion in division participation contests is July 1.

To register your event, please go to www.uspta.com and click on the Tennis Across America logo on our home page. This will take you to our TAA section where you can register your Tennis Across America event today. Last year, teaching professionals planned and publicized their free Tennis Across America grassroots clinics, and they are still reaping the benefits by drawing in new players, filling lesson programs and receiving positive publicity.

So what are you waiting for? Register your Tennis Across America event today and be a part of Tennis - for the health of it!
